
RULES TO ENTER
Eligibility: Any child from the ages of four to twelve.
Entry Fee: There is no entry fee to submit your work to the challenge
Originality: All work must be created by the student. The entry must be conceptualized, developed, and completed by the student. If a parent or teacher has any doubt about the originality of the piece, it should not be submitted.
Guidelines for Artwork: Artwork must be submitted via the online collaborative Magma program. <Instructions for workspace submissions here>
Maximum entry size : 1000 px X 800 px, 72 ppi
*Please, no physical artwork.
Mixed Media: Entries in which two or more digital 2-D media are combined in a single two-dimensional entry; including digital pictorial collage.
Photography/Collage: No more than 20% of collage material may be from online sources not produced by the student or other material pre-printed with text or designs (such as scrapbook paper).
Original Photography: Must be a student’s own work taken within the last year. It may be black and white or color.
Digital Media does NOT include Artificial Intelligence Art submissions.

How the Judging Process Works
1. Creativity and Originality
There is evidence of imagination, creativity, and individuality. The result is distinctive and the concept presented in a unique way that is imaginative and inventive.
Division I: Ages 6-8, Division II: Ages 9-12
Judging Criteria: The entries will be judged according to
the following criteria. Each criterion is weighted equally.
The goal is to sell your art to help build a library.
2. Technique
The student chooses and utilizes media and tools competently to enhance the appearance of the work.
3. Organization
The use of elements and the principles of art are used effectively and selectively to enhance the overall appearance of the work.
4. Clarity of Theme The work combines technique, expression, and organization through artistic and critical judgment to achieve an effective interpretation of the theme.
5. Presentation
The presentation is in accordance with the style of the art piece and the theme of the competition.
*Note:
Jurors have the right to exclude any work from consideration in the contest.
The decision of the jurors is final as relating to all contest matters.
Final Adjudication:
The jurors will judge all finalists based on the criteria listed under Judging Criteria.
The final selections will be made solely on the consensus of the panel of jurors.
